How to find the whole part if you know the percentage and the part.

Example:

16 % of an amount of money is 80 Euro.  How much is the amount?

Find 1%:

5 Euro is 1% of the amount of money.

Multiply by 100 to find the total amount:

The problem can also be solved by using the percentage equation. 

percentage × whole = part

Divide both sides by 0.16 and simplify.
