Rectangular solids


The edges of a rectangular solid form right angles with the base.

The volume formula for the rectangular solid is

 

This formula applies to all regular solids, such as prisms, cylinders and solids with edges that form a right angle with the base.

To find the volume of the house, calculate the volume of the green rectangular solid:
